- Do you feel like eating something right now?
Chocolate! Always, anytime, everywhere. Or sushi.. You can wake me up for fresh, good sushi.
- If you could have one person around you right now, who would that be?
My lovely friend Milena from Ukraine. We met 6 years ago when we were working together in Turkey and kept in touch ever since. I’ve visited her a few times in Kiev, and she came to Groningen like 5 times already. I love to talk to her the whoooole night, spend time with her. We don’t see each other enough.
- Would you rather have 10 children, or none at all?
That’s a though one. But I’ll go for 10 if I really had to choose. I would love to be a mommy one day, although 10 would def be a bit too much haha.
- What are you listening to right now?
I’m listening to Slow Jamz on FunX, my favorite radio station in the Netherlands. Trey Songz is onnnn while I’m writing this (#fan).
- Is your bed located next to a wall?
Haha, yes it is! In a corner, to be more precise. I sleep between a wall and my room divider, sooo comfy. I like beds that are cosy in corners.
- What is crossing your mind at this moment?
Hm.. I’m wondering if a TAG like this is something I should publish, or if I should just go to sleep and forget about it. Oh and that I really need to prepare an interview that is planned for tomorrow.
- Are you always there whenever a friend needs you?
Definitely yes. The people that are close to me know (I hope!) that if there is ANYTHING, no matter what, I will be there. I always try my best to offer my house, my food, my money and my advice and support if someone needs it. Often I’ve done this for people who were not that genuine. That’s why nowadays I try to spend my valuable time and efforts on the people who most deserve it.
- Who is the last person that saw you cry?
P. Yes, he’s a well kept ‘secret’ ;).
- When is the last time that you were really broken? (emotionally)
The last time I was really broken was this summer in Turkey, when I spend my complete holiday in a hospital. After a heavy surgery, not being able to walk or do anything for that matter, I kinda broke down. I had been extremely busy before and together with a physical breakdown, this really cracked me down mentally. But it also made me VERY aware of all the good things in life and I’ve learned some valuable lessons, listening solely to my body for a while.
- What do you do when you get super nervous?
I’m not that often so nervous, I’ve done so many things out of my comfort zone that I always try to be relaxed and positive when something exciting is happening. But when I do get nervous, I feel it straight away in my stomach. I keep smiling, but deep inside my stomach is turning!
- Be honest. Do you like people, in general?
Like? Really ‘like’? Not always. I’m not a person who loves everyone around her, I don’t handle people well that are slow/boring/arrogant/mean etc. But I do think that people are SUPER interesting. Which is one of the reasons why I love journalism. I discover the most random people, in the weirdest situations. I talk to people with whom I would have never talked otherwise and that’s what I love. So yes, I like people. But not ‘like like’, if you know what I mean.
- Is there someone who totally understands you?
No, I don’t think this is ever possible. Everyone has their own experiences in life, their own points of view. My issues are nothing to one person, and too much to handle for another person. Sometimes I even find it hard to completely understand myself haha!
- Do you have a reason to laugh at this moment?
Yes! I do, everyday. I’m very blessed to live the life I live right now (corny, yeah?). But seriously, life is good and I love what I’m doing. I feel healthy now, comfortable in my own skin and happy.
- Did someone ever tell you that you mean the world for him/her?
Yes 🙂 and so did I. It’s the scariest thing ever, but also the best.
- Would you be happier if life had a ‘rewind’ button?
I’ve been thinking about this question a while, but I think I wouldn’t be. Every experience, no matter how bad, shapes the unique person you are today. If I would go back in time and do some things differently, I might not have ended up here. The future is there to grow and evolve, no need to rewind.
- Do you tell your parents everything?
No. There was a period where I would call them for every little thing in my life, good and bad, but I realized that isn’t always a good thing. I’m 24, I want to make it on my own. But I still try to share as much as possible with them.
- Would you mind if your boyfriend was a smoker?
Not really. Everybody is free to make his/her own choices in life, but I don’t find it sexy when a man is smoking. To me smoking shows that he doesn’t care enough about his health.
- Do you remember who you really liked this day, last year?
Yes! And I still do like that person a lot today :).
- Do you tend to focus more on the past, the future or the present?
I know I often think about the past. I like to relive adventures, experiences and analyse what they did to me. I always remember every single detail. This is not always a good thing though. When I’m having a discussion with someone, I always bring up old stuff. This is why I try more to look at what the future will bring!
- How many hours do you sleep at night?
Most of time I sleep 7 hours max. Since my surgery I suffer from extreme tiredness, and I easily get 10 hours of sleep a night. Crazy! I always try to get at least 7 hours solid sleep.
- What is the last thing you were drinking?
Water from my Bobble jug! I love to filter my water and keep it super cool in the fridge. Yum.
- What kind of bed do you have?
A very big, comfy 240×240 boxspring bed. And I LOVE IT.
- Do you like rain?
I can be short about this. No. Never.
- Did you ever do something, while you always told yourself you would never do it?
Yes. I think more than once haha. One example: 1,5 year ago I got a tattoo. I always told myself that I would never ever get tatted. So weird haha.
- Do people tend to see you as an optimist or a pessimist?
I think (and I hope) as an optimist.. I like to always find solutions to problems and I am pretty well known for my uplifting advices (haha). But I do also tend to think negatively sometimes when I am afraid that some things will not work out the way I want. That really does drive people crazy sometimes.
- What is the last movie you saw in the cinema, and with who?
I have a Pathe Unlimited card, so I tend to go to the cinema a lot haha. This weekend I saw ‘Trainwreck’ with Ally, one of my best friends. It was SO funny. I literally cried of laughing. If you haven’t seen this one yet, please do so! You’ll not regret it.
- Did you ever get hurt by someone who you thought would never hurt you?
Yes, more than once unfortunately. But hey – that’s how we learn! And the sad thing is, that you can never really prevent this from happening again. You just should never lose faith.
- Do you prefer to spend your weekend at a concert or in a club?
I have to admit, I love clubbing. I tend to not go that often anymore (getting old omg), but I still love me some good night out with my girls. I don’t drink alcohol though. I just go to dress up and dance, dance, dance!
- Do you think you fall for the same type of guy, like always?
Yup. I can definitely see a pattern here haha. Sometimes I wish I didn’t.
- Do you think you spend too much time on your appearance?
Define ‘too much’? I do love to spend time on make-up, hair, fashion and keeping my body in shape. I see this as a huge investment in self-love. This doesn’t mean I check my make-up every 30 minutes or that I can’t enjoy days off. I think I found a really good balance for myself and I don’t feel it’s ever ‘too much’.
- Do you feel jealous quickly?
Of other people’s success? No. Other beautiful women? No. But in some situations in my personal relationships, yes. Not obsessively, and when I really trust a person, I am the coolest person ever. But yeah, I do have some trust issues that can make me feel jealous quickly.
- Did you buy a lot of clothes last week?
Hahah.. Yes! After being a bit ‘broke’ for a while, I just received some extra moneyz and I did some serious hauling. High end make-up, a lot of clothes. Jeez… But! I also gave away 4 full bags of clothes, blankets, towels, shoes and other things for the Syrian Refugees. So I had some space for new things.
- What are you up to tomorrow?
I have yet another appointment at the doctors office (great) in the morning, after that I have to start working on my final master thesis. I can’t really motivate myself to go to the library and start, but I really have to. Also, I have to prepare my interview for the documentary I am producing. Plus gym. Busy day!
- Did your ex ever cheat on you?
I guess my trust issues have a reason 😉
- Do you like cotton candy?
Such a random question haha. But I do! After a few bites I always throw it away though. I hate that my hands get so sticky.
- What were you doing last night at twelve?
Not very surprisingly for my current state of being; I was sleeping. On a Saturday night. I know right.. Surgery is awesome!
- Who was the first person you spoke to today?
- Did something really excited happen to you last month?
Yes! I visited Ukraine and France and had an amazing time with some very dear people. On top of that I am very proud to produce my first documentary and to be part of a really cool and fun team. We’ve been working very hard to make everything a reality last month. It’s giving me a lot of energy. Can’t wait to tell you all more about it!
